Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante

When this Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante arrived with us, a one of 192 UK examples with it's Windsor Red coachwork that had previously adorned her had already been removed and was back to bare metal with most of the panel work having already been done too including larger wheel arch flares. The panel fit though good enough for some wasn't nearly good enough for the 5mm panel to panel we set as our bench mark. The panels were realigned with all gaps made mm perfect, some panels needing added material to the edges thus needing Tig welding whilst others needed filing to get 5mm we needed. The small dents we could access were hammer and dollied into shape then we ran a bodyfile over the complete exterior. It was the sanded with P80 grit on a da sander before we lightly skimmed the exterior with body filler to leave a flawless unbroken shape once painted, it was then primed and prepared prior to the top coat of Rolls Royce Balmoral Green being sprayed. The car was then wet flatted with P1500 grade wet flatting paper. The process was then repeated with a grade P3000 wet flatting paper. The project finished with the vehicle being buffed to a high gloss. It was recently spotted at the 2018 AMOC Spring Concours held at Englefield House in the car park on the Saturday looking striking in the sun.
