Jaguar E-type
Project Dates:

This Jaguar S3 V12 e-type is an original matching numbers UK car, it had spent the previous 20 years plus years in dry storage in Qatar while owned by a private collector. The car originally left the Jaguar factory in Lavender blue and was then re-sprayed Carmine Red twenty years ago by the Qatari collector, our client had Jaguar Azure Blue firmly set in his mind as his chosen preference. Our client purchased it via a Bonhams Auction in 2013 and commissioned a zero compromise Jaguar e-type restoration with ourselves with performance upgrades and enhancements making it arguably one of the finest Series 3 e-types you will find, a hugely satisfying build with all the fit and finish absolutely on point. The work involved dismantling the car to its bare shell and chemically dipping it to remove all paint, filler and rust to determine the extent of poor repairs and corrosion that has taken place over the years. Any corrosion and damage was addressed once the car was back from dipping, which was minimal. Both heel boards and a few patches were the extent of the corrosion. A testimony to it being kept dry for so many years. Once completed it was ready to be levelled prior to polyester. Once the polyester was blocked down through the grades to our satisfaction it was masked for paint. The car was then epoxy wet on wet primed prior to correct period Jaguar colour Azure Blue, with the underside, inside frameworks and engine frames and shell all being body coloured respectively. All the suspension and ancillary components were painted in Gloss Black 2k to give it a very classy look and is absolutely stunning. Once out of paint the mammoth refit began, this is a true 'nut and bolt' restoration, as seen in pictures - everything has been replaced, upgraded or refurbished; including custom Ohlins coilovers of which this was the first S3 car in the UK to sport. We had Turrino wire wheels build a one off set of wheels to our exact offset specifications which are now believed to be Turrino's "Ultimate S3 E-Type wheel set" and Michelin Primacy's finish off the handling side of things. Interior reupholstered in cream leather with blue piping, a factory colour choice but with some aftermarket flair added. The car was delivered in October '18 after a shakedown period to identify and address any quirks that occurred during normal and prolonged road use. We recently painted the factory hardtop in matching Azure Blue and the result is nothing short of absolutely stunning. Besides many other e-type commissions we undertake and since handing this one over to the owner in 2018 we have now taken an order to produce a completely unique one off zero compromise E-type roadster for an Australian collector built to his restomod spec with an all Alumimium V12 with 640hp and 8 sp transmission that will be truly exceptional, a huge list of detail changes and performance upgrades. Watch this space as this one will be truly awesome.. We are also in talks to develop a S3 e-type with a 4.2 NA Jaguar V8 with an 8sp transmission which is also really exciting. We do exhibit this car each year at the Goodwood Revival to showcase what we offer our clients, feel free to come and talk to one of us. Here’s a link to a video of the work we carried out on the car on our YouTube channel too. https://youtu.be/KjPPo6e5L4U Do you have a special project that you feel would benefit from the use of our services that you would like to discuss with us ?
